R&D Manager

The R&D Manager is responsible for developing and executing new products, and works with the commercialization team to bring these products to market. This role develops new formulae, creates benchtop trial samples and executes successful scale up activities to ensure the products are successfully commercialized. This position will gather scientific evidence through a variety of established and recognized resources, to support the beneficial effects of ingredients and manufacturing practices as it relates to our categories. The Manager must possess strong data analysis skills, and be able to interpret and take action on key findings. As this role interacts with each plant, it is, important that GMP?s are demonstrated and that SOP?s are understood. The position will ensure accurate and appropriate record keeping in maintained.
R&D Manager will motivate the R&D Team to ensure promised timelines on analyses and projects are met. This position will keep abreast of current trends, practices, developments, and regulatory changes, which would affect our products or formulations. R&D Manager must also demonstrate good organization and housekeeping habits.
The R&D team under their leadership will work with the operations departments to ensure that our products maintain a consistent good quality. This role is also a key gatekeeper for packaging reviews, to help ensure accuracy & legality for all packaged products in the Nut Butter Business unit.
+ Manage and develop the department?s resources with the goal of meeting or exceeding all deadlines and expectations
+ Develop new innovative products
+ Manage the new concept development and production scale up process
+ Accurately maintain R&D project records, proactively providing status reports, as required
+ Collaborate with Operations to achieve project objectives
+ Conduct research in areas including food regulation and process validations
+ Liaise with regulatory bodies to be current with food regulations for North America & Globally
+ Approve Labels to ensure compliance with regulations
+ Liaise with suppliers for new products and ingredients
+ Source new ingredients to aid in the innovation process
+ Participate in the RFP process
+ Review & sign-off specifications
+ Manage sensory evaluations for commercialized products
+ Identify and advances quality and process improvement opportunities
+ Keep current with changes in technologies and regulation for the countries we do business
+ Lead and mentor direct reports while providing developmental opportunities when available.

+ Minimum educational requirement BSc - Food Science degree or related field
+ 5 years experience in food industry, in Quality, or Research & Development
+ Strong time management, planning and data analysis skills
+ Must possess knowledge Food Product development, as well as working knowledge of Prop-65, FDA, and CFIA regulations, SOP?s, cGMP?s and FSMA
+ Must be competent and proficient in Genesis software, Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ Professional written and verbal communication skills, with excellent client facing skills (external) and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization (internal)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
